    Slightly off topic’ish, my father flys gliders and every (I think) 3 months you go out with the chief flying instructor to make sure you are safe to fly etc etc part of that is a ‘winch launch cable breakage’ the CFO did it at 500ft. Which from where i was stood on the ground,was abit of a worry!

    Losing authoritative control by not being on the ball, should spot it and correct it immediately before allowing the situation to become out of control. Some learn the hard way.

    I would love to be able to speak to you. I am probably the most rusty helicopter pilot ever. I used to fly a 206b3 42 years ago. I’ve recently done some R44 training to see if I can still do it. I think I’m doing ok. I have Bell 505 on order. Should receive it sometime in August/September. I would love to come fly with you before that. Do you have any interest? Jeff. Btw, I do have over 3k hours fixed wing. Mostly C510 single pilot.

He had a real tunnel look in his eyes and was almost not able to answer your question if he is ready! Really adorable. Great job on the first attempt! I am flying only RC helis and I remember how long it tool me until I was able to hover 4 minutes (1 battery) in fully manual 3D mode.

    • @Ronnie_B

      Plenty high enough for the pilot to recover from any eventuality. We all know what happened to the Aeroflot flight and why, completely irrelevant

    Thats with only 1/3 the controls. I had a pilot let me try this exact thing and it is NOT easy. I didnt get the tip about looking far off so I was focused on close things and I couldnt imagine with pedals and collective added in. He did let me fly on the way back to the airport (remote) and that was what actually started me down the rabbit hole of how helicopters worked and how I ended up finding this channel.

    Good lord. As an American working in the southeast mostly in forestry with 206’s… their spray system setup is massive and inefficient. An entire Honda motor mounted to the skids plus all those hoses and the double tanks. They can’t be taking more than like 40-50g before hitting max gross weight

    • @agcopta9633
      @agcopta9633 10 годин тому

      Very light set up with fibreglass tanks and alloy boom. Legal at around 230 ltrs payload. Need the big motor to pump out over 200 ltrs per minute for heavy water rates.

    • @poisonivy2380
      @poisonivy2380 Годину тому

      @@agcopta9633 we also use fiberglass tanks and aluminum booms. What kind of gallons(or liters) per acre are you spraying at generally? And swath width? It’s not uncommon for us to spray 10-15gpa on forestry work, and using electric pumps that weigh 22-24lb it’s fairly easy to maintain a ground speed between 50-65 With a jet ranger, max gross weight capacity is between 50-80g (190-300liters) With the L3, 100-120g(380-450liters)

    • @agcopta9633
      @agcopta9633 Годину тому

      @poisonivy2380 On forestrys 150 to 200 ltrs per hectare at around 10 to 12 mtr swath to get a over lap both ways so bout the same as you but on gorse we are at 400 to 600 ltrs per hectare swath at 6.5 mtr swath with over lap. Can run a smaller Honda motor for lighter water rate. I'd have to check the weight of motors sory. Not sure the 44 would like a electric pump. Thanks
